Today we met with the Department of Social Services. So far, everything has gone smoothly and everyone at DSS has been organized and cheerful. The more you hang around fostering adults, the worse some of the stories get about DSS. Here in Greenville, SC, the people seem nice enough, at least as far as first impressions go.
The meeting started at 5:30pm and I took off part of the afternoon so I would be 100% focused and able to leave early enough. Liz had the harder part: she had to wake up an hour earlier than her normal work schedule would require. Also, we're super thankful that Allen is taking part of Liz's work shift to make it happen.
The meeting went really well and many questions were answered but many more were raised. We were also given a packet of forms to start filling out, including a 16 page autobiography with one blank page in the middle. The blank page is to remain blank and must be returned. #Goverment
Now begins the hunt for wireless, interconnected, 10 year battery smoke alarms and all those important papers that we keep meaning to put some place safe. #adulting
